UptimeRobot is an uptime monitoring service. "Uptime" means your site or app is online and working. UptimeRobot keeps checking your websites, APIs, and servers, and sends you an alert as soon as something stops working, usually before your users notice.
Besides simple "is it up?" checks, it can:
1. Check for specific text on a page: it alerts you if a keyword appears or disappears. 2. Watch scheduled jobs: it tells you if a job fails or never runs. 3. Track SSL certificates, domain expiry and DNS changes: it warns you before a certificate or domain expires and catches unauthorised DNS changes early. 4. Measure response time: it shows how fast your site loads. 5. Publish public status pages: these show your users live uptime and incident updates.
Alerts reach you by email, SMS, phone call, mobile app, Slack, Telegram, Discord, Microsoft Teams, and more. To reduce false alarms, it rechecks failures from several locations before it counts a site as down.
